“On the afternoon of 30 May Sangeang Api, a volcano close to Sumbawa erupted. We had planned to be diving around that volcano the day before, but one of our guests was departing early, which prevented that. When the eruption happened, Dunia Baru was anchored at Gili Lawa Laut as part of the yacht’s first charter, a 10-day cruise around Komodo National Park, and we were about 10 miles from Sangeang. Our guests were diving when the eruption began, and when they returned to Dunia Baru with the dive dinghy they were absolutely in awe of mother nature. Dunia Baru, they said, had given them the adventure of a lifetime.” – Courtney Robba, operations manager of Dunia Baru
